i have signed first contract, where the owner had agent but he did not help me through the paper work. But agent suggested his colleague to represent on my behalf. My agent charged me 500$ for the first agreement.
Secondly the first contract expired and i renewed the contract, but the agent charged me 800$ fee+ stamp duty, which is much higher from the earlier payment. Are agents allowed to charge me for renewal?
Now, unexpectedly am leaving the country and looking for the replacement to take over the contract. However the agent from my side want to charge Agent fee 1125$+190$ stamp duty, however with bargain he agreed for 800$+190$. Does the person who takes over need to pay that money or either of us (me and new tenant) have to or not?

Please give advise in this matter. Looks very confusing!
