I am staying in an approved HDB flat for the last one year and it is time now to renew the agreement for next year. But,my Landlord and myself (Foriegner) have discovered that the previous tenancy agreement was not registered with HDB and there was no stamp duty work done or advised by both of agents.My landlord and myself are quite unhappy with the services provided to us and wants to sign up a next year agreement without engaging any agents.But, both of our agents are scaring and asking us for a commisssion even if we don't want to engage them and they say it is is illegal to sign up any tenancy agreement without engaging agents in singapore. I don't think that I should pay my agent any commission for the next year especially when my landlord is not ready to sign up any contract. Please advice in this matter.
