Yes its possible, but it may also affect the offer price and may even deter buyers from even considering your unit if they cannot support your timeline. I have worked on similar cases and would be happy to advise the best approach.

Hi,

Under HDB rules, you can only apply for the 3 months extension of stay IF you had committed to a resale property purchase AT the point of SUBMISSION to HDB.

If you had not committed to a purchase at the point of submission, you will not able to request for the extension of stay, because HDB will require you to fill in the purchase property details and upload the OTP during Submission.

I fully understand your question on this but my advise is not to proceed with request of extension if you are planning to rent. As per other agent advise, this might affect the pool of buyers eligible to purchase your unit and this affecting your unit demand. Do note that even if buyers are agreeable to your reuest, it might only be verbal in nature and there are cases of buyers retracting their promises to let you have an extension of stay even if you have factor in the request consideration in the selling price.
