Asked by
I am renting a property, which is owned by a person, who used to live in Singapore running a small business, but now lives in Ireland. His son still lives in Singapore and now runs his dad business. The property is 100% by the dad in Ireland, but the son is the contact point for ongoing issues. The TA is signed by the son, but there is no Power of Attorney from the father to sign of his behalf. I wish to get out of the TA before time. My question is: Is the TA valid is it is NOT signed by the owner of the property?

Hi, if the son is not the POA, then the TA is not valid in the eyes of the law.

Evening,

If you are sure that the son is no the co-owner of the unit and does not have the power of attorney, the signed TA will carry no legal holding.

Didn't think about it earlier. But the reason why I take it up now, is because I wish to vacate the property earlier that what is stipulated in the TA
