Hi Raymond,

For new EC purchase from developer, you have to dispose your HDB. Hence if you intend to keep both hdb and condo, you have to be SC, met MOP of 5 years and can only consider private condo.

Hi Raymond,

As EC are subsidized property from the government, you will not be able to hold on to your HDB after purchasing an EC.

Congrats on paying up your HDB, for investment, you may want to look into the condo market instead. However, do note that an Additional Buyer Stamp Duty of 7% of the purchase price.

If you are looking at keeping the HDB unit and getting your second property, you need to be SC and have fulfilled the MOP requirement. With these, you will be eligible to purchase resale EC as your second property in holding. ABSD of 7% will be payable and you can obtain max of 80% loan.
