Hi, would like to clarify the down payment for purchasing a HDB unit is it based on the phase of transaction. (I.e OTP 1%, upon key collection another remaining balance?). Clarifying as I planning to sell my current unit to ensure I got enough budget for the next purchase for a smooth transition.

Hi Sir/Madam,

For purchasing of resale HDB, the option fee for OTP is max $1k and for the option exercise fee its max $4k, total deposit will not exceed $5k as per HDB regulations. The balance of the purchase price and stamp duties will be payable closer to the completion date approximately 10 to 12 weeks later.

By the way, I believe you are referring to buying of a resale HDB flat and it will be first a $1000 option fee and then follow by a $4000 exercise fee, the rest of the payment will be loan plus cpf.
