Hi, my wife bought a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom unit at North Park Residences at the VVIP last April. Her income wasn't enough for her to get a higher bank loan for the 3 bedroom prices. Now that she has a new job with higher pay, the bank should be able to give her a better loan. I am wondering if there are any cases in the past which the buyer can talk to the developer to see if it is possible that we can upgrade to a 3 bedroom unit by paying more. Or should we engage our lawyer to initiate the discussion?

Hi,

For such cases usually it is a case by case basis. First you will have to check with the bank if her new pay can get her a higher loan amount because usually bank will require a 3-6 months income statement and not just for 1 month pay increment. Second, if bank allows her to get a higher loan then u can proceed to try to check with the developer to see if they allow you to change your bedroom type to 3 Bedroom subjected to Developer's approval.

Thank You,
