Hi, my wife and I (both SPR) are planning to buy HDB this year, however due to pandemic, my wife is currently stayed in Malaysia with family and kids. Will this cause any potential issue or anything we need to be aware of when completing all the contracts and formalities with seller, HDB and the bank? (as she do not plan to travel into SG anytime soon). Many thanks.

Yes you can still complete the sale with the POA as mentioned by Daniel.. For SPR, just have to be careful on the cash portion as you will have the normal stamp duty and ABSD portion as well.
And in this market, COV is almost to be expected most of the time.
You can also reduce the cash portion by using CPF if planned correctly.. Hope this helps !
