Hi, It's been 9 weeks since I have handed back my keys for an apartment I was renting and I'm yet to receive my 2 month deposit back even after weekly calls and msgs to the owners' apartment manager and agent.

What would be recommended next steps?

Hi Ms T, that is a long time and you could actually make a complaint to CEA directly. Let me know if you needed any assistance.

Hi Ms T,

There is nothing you can do to complain to CEA as it is out of the salesperson control whether the security deposit is returned or not. As salesperson we can only expedite.

Wilsen is right that you should approach Small Claims Tribunal to open up a case in order to claim back your security deposit or you may seek your lawyer's advise on this matter.
