Hi I would like to rent a commercial property eg. A cafe.
A guy who is currently renting the unit wants to sell it off. As for that, I will be taking over the unit in September. As there is still about 7 months left before the contract ends (April), I would like to meet up with the landlord to check if she's going to increase the rental. As the guy told me he was given "covid" rental. When I asked the guy if I could meet up with the landlord, he said that the landlord do not wish to meet up. The landlord only wants to meet about 3 months before the lease is ending. Can someone here help me if this is right?
1) Can a landlord reject not to meet a "new" tenant?
2) Is it true that a landlord only can discuss regarding a renewal of contract 3 months prior to the ending of contract?
3) When the guy hands over me the unit, does the landlord need to present?
Please someone help me.
Thank you.
