Hi, i my wife got a resale house through propnex agent last year Nov. I discuss with my wife to bring along her mum age 53 and 2 sister 21age & 18age to stay with us. During that period of time my mum in law got married to our Stepdad in 2017 and got a resale house 2018. After discussing though, my mother in-law agreed to stay with us.
We have tensions and lately, my mum in law, will always bring up the subject to ask me to pullout her name as occupier or even ask me to go get the $30,000/- and pay to hdb. Cause she will said without her name i wont get this house.
I understand they need to stay for 5yrs with us. Also there alot of cases couple misued the grant young couple using parent name but parent not staying with them.
However, we received news that my stepdad has passed away in Sept. Also i found out the house that my mum staying have an outstanding $19k+. Due to my late stepdad health condition unable to sustain his cpf and now in laws have to carry the burden. Only me and my elder sis in law are married and have our own house.
My worries is, will i able to endure it for 5yrs with their behavoir and attitude, or if it is right to remove my mother in law's name without breaching the contract or do i need to pay back $30K to hdb.
Is there any other way or even solution to my matter?
