Hi Gurus...
My query is in with respect to e Registration of Tenancy Agreement, in Singapore.
For a private 3 bedroom condo, is the Tenancy Agreement registration a mandatory requirement ? If its is, untill what time period can the the agreement eRegistration be carried out, after the contract start date ?
eg. if tenancy period in agreement commences on 1st July 2018 for 2 years, can the agreement be registered by 1st August 2018 ??.

Many thanks in advance...

Yes Jayesh, it is mandatory to pay stamp duty and it is an offence not to do so. For more info, you may look up IRAS portal.

It is mandatory to pay stamp duty for the tenancy agreement, and this shall be stamp within 7 days from the date signed. A monetary penalty will be imposed on late submission. For detail pls refer to IRAS.gov.sg.

This is so that both parties; landlord and tenant acknowledge that the agreement is legally recognize in case this is brought up to court if there are any disputes.
