Hello,
im facing the issue that my landlord doesnt wanna return my deposit. i have rented his flat for a year. His unit is totally new, less than 5 years so he decided to lock one room just in case HDB goes and checks around.
After CB, he wanted to take back the house. when we returned the house, we realized that kitchencountertop got some stains( everything is still fucntioning perfectly, no cracks, no dent). we suggested to ask professional cleaners to come n remove it however the landlord insisted to ensure that the countertop must be back to original. so he asked me to change the whole countertop due to stains he quoted me as 2k even last time he did it only 1.4k(he mentioned in whatsapp). and he doesnt consider depreciation will be happening in this world.
we made an offer to pay for 500 he still doenst agree.
i would like to file a case to a court and ask them to assist.
it seems like he just wanna eat up my money instead.
what can i do?

Hi,

I suggest that you should approach the agent who assisted you in renting the flat. Afterall, you paid for his services, so I think it's only right he acts for your interests.

Best regards,
