I have heard that with the signing of the EUSFTA (EU - Singapore Free Trade Agreement) EU nationals may become exempted from ABSD like nationals of the USA and other few countries - Ref: https://www.iras.gov.sg/irashome/Other-Taxes/Stamp-Duty-for-Property/Claiming-Refunds-Remissions-Reliefs/Remissions/Foreigners-Eligible-for-ABSD-Remission-under-Free-Trade-Agreements--FTAs-/

Do you have any news regarding this?

Hi Federico,

As of now, only foreigners from Switzerland, Norway, USA, Iceland and Lichtenstein are exempted from ABSD for their first property purchase.

Hi Mr Federico, yes you are right and as my colleague had pointed it out to you that only these 5 countries are listed for exemption for now. I had a buyer who is an American and he bought a private property here in Singapore last year and he need not pay any ABSD. Pls feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.
