It is more interesting to find out why have you chosen to find out more about the Singapore real estate market over other regions or even the immediate geographical vicinity like Malaysia, Indonesia and etc.
What attracted you to find out more about the real estate environment in Singapore and who are you looking to compare against?
Real estate market is highly linked to how the economy is performing, therefore there are loads of information and factors for considerations as a foreign investor, which may include and not limited to:
1) Foreign exchange performance.
Indonesian investors who have put in their funds to invest in Core Central Region may not be making a profit in terms of the purchase and selling price, but they are likely to gain in comparison to how their currency is performing against the Singapore Dollars.
2) Liquidity
How easy can an investor liquidate the assets and move the funds around is also an important aspect of consideration for there maybe occasions where funds maybe needed to be channeled outside Singapore for perhaps a rare investment opportunity which can give better returns for example. On top of that, the transparency of real estate data available on top of existing legislation governing all sales and purchase transactions allow an investor to conduct the purchase or sale at ease.
The above are just some of the pointers who I usually will share with foreign investors into Singapore, and with data easily available to indicate the amount of foreign purchasers for Singapore's real estate market despite an increment of the stamp duty payable, we definitely know that the decision to invest in Singapore is unlikely going to be a wrong decision.
