Hello, an agent would like to collect the deposit of an HDB apt I'm negotiating the agreement. I remember that I used to pay my deposit directly at the Landlord, it is right?

Hi Andrew, it does not matter. As long as the agent is able to show you the ownership proof of the landlord and the cheque is being made payable to his or her name, then it will be fine.

Hi Andrew,

There is no problem if you're paying the deposit in cheque to the rightful owner's name.

If you're paying the deposit by CASH, then the Agent is not allowed to collect the deposit on behalf of the Landlord.

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you and your partner in the current market.

Thank you.
