My EC was not ready for sale due to MOP (another 3 months from Jan) at that time and Ivan was able to give me advices on how to proceed from there. Initially we have decided to try to write to HDB for early sale but since it was only 3 months left, eventually we waited for another 3 months while we looked for our next property. For Sol Acres. it has yet to achieve the 5 years Minimum Occupation Period (MOP) and therefore as a single owner, you are not eligible. Sol Acres will obtain the MOP in 2023.

You may want to consider getting a new or resale private condo or EC instead. Please feel free to contact me so that I can understand your intentions and provide you with further assistance.

Hi,

1) Sol Acres only TOP on 12 March 2018 & 26 April 2018. Meaning that their MOP is 11 March 2023 & 25 April 2023 respectively.
2) If there are any units released into the market now, means it is selling before meeting MOP.
3) These units will be under the HDB jurisdiction, in another word, the buyers must meet the new EC eligibility Scheme listed:
https://www.hdb.gov.sg/cs/infoweb/residential/buying-a-flat/new/eligibility/executive-condominiums

4) Therefore a single is not eligible to purchase as of now.
5) But if you are referring to buying with 1 name and the spouse as essential occupier is feasible.
6) Nevertheless, both have to observe the MOP as stipulated by the HDB. In other words, essential occupiers are also not allowed to invest in private residential property during the MOP.

Hi,

All properties can be purchased under sole lessee. There is no law to state that a property must be own by 2 or more persons.

For resale ECs that the first owners had not met their MOP, the buyer of such ECs will have to meet all the eligibility conditions under one of the many Eligibility Schemes. For ECs that the first owners had met the MOP and less than 10 years from TOP, the only restriction is for foreign buyers. For ECs beyond 10 years of TOP, there will be no restrictions.
