Along with District 1, District 2 forms an integral part of the Central Business District (CBD) of Singapore that spans Anson Road, Neil Road and Tanjong Pagar. Chinatown is now known for its wide array of delicious and affordable Chinese and other Singaporean local cuisine and eateries which includes Restaurant Ember at Hotel 1929 and the Qun Zhong Eating House. As you delve deeper and explore District 2 further, you will discover other Singaporean treasure troves less commonly known to tourists and expatriates in Tanjong Pagar. Here, the night scene is thriving landscape, as it features many different pubs, clubs and KTV bars along Tras Street. You also can’t possible miss the Tanjong Pagar Plaza that is a slew of shophouses built to accommodate businesses by the Housing Development Board (HDB) of Singapore. The food centre is noted for its local dishes including nasi lemak and fish soup. Another notable food paradise would be Maxwell Food Centre that features delicious chicken rice. Over the past few years, Tanjong Pagar has been known as the “Little Korea” as new Korean eateries have sprung up to cater to the taste buds of the growing Korean community in Singapore.
