This very estate was retained even when Clementi began development in 1975 but was later demolished in 1997 to make way for other practical uses. Another key feature of Clementi is the steel truss railway bridge that crosses Sungei Ulu Pandan that forms part of the Jurong KTMB Railway Line which had the purpose of transporting manufactured products from Jurong to Malaysia. This was however closed in the early 1990s but the track still remains abandoned, attracting much interest from the public seeking a piece of Singapore’s history.
