While Tengah does not have any malls at the moment, those living there can easily hop over to nearby Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Batok and Jurong.
Food Scene
Local food fans will enjoy eating their way around Keat Hong Shopping Centre. They can start the day with some porridge from Meng Huat. For lunch, they can tuck into some noodles from Eng Kee Noodle House or sink their teeth into some roast meat from Roast Delights. If they are hankering for some comfort food for dinner, they can head over to Xiong Xi Ji for a favourite local dish – chicken rice.
Sunshine Plaza is another place that is sure to delight local food fans. There is a Kopitiam food court serving a wide variety of affordable local dishes. Seafood lovers can go to Crab Monster or New Seafood Restaurant to satisfy their craving. Those who like their food with a spicy kick can fill their tummies at Nabia Indian Muslim Food.

Children will love the huge playground at the rooftop.
West Mall is a family friendly mall that can easily cater to the needs of the whole family! Parents can do their groceries shopping at Cold Storage while their kids attend enrichment classes at Morris Allen English or Tien Hsia Language School. Dads can help their children cultivate a love for reading at Bukit Batok Community Library while Mums enjoy some well-deserved pampering at Jean Yip Hub or Princess Manicure. Young couples who just purchased their love nest will love the numerous household and electronics stores including Harvey Norman, Slumberland and Japan Home. Nearby Jurong also has lots of shopping options. Jurong has five malls; namely JEM, JCube, IMM, Jurong Point and Westgate. Bookworms will congregate at JEM because of Books Kinokuinya while fashionistas will make a beeline for Westgate because of its many beauty and fashion shops. Courting couples are likely to be found catching a movie at the IMAX cinema or skiing around the ice rink at JCube. Jurong Point is likely to be another family favourite with its wide variety of shops. Bargain hunters will have a field day at IMM where brands such agnes b, Calvin Klein Jeans, Charles & Keith, Guess, Nike, Michael Kors, Outlet by Club 21 and Under Armour can be found.

There are plenty of workout spaces for health and fitness nuts living in Tengah.
Gym rats will be pleased to know that there is a GymmBoxx at Keat Hong Community Club and JCube. As for the ladies, they will appreciate having a Contours Express along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 1 and an Amore Fitness & Boutique Spa at Jurong Point. Those who prefer to work out in the wee hours of the night can head to HillV2 where there is a 24-hour Anytime Fitness gym.
Those who prefer swimming as a form of exercise will be glad to know that that Bukit Batok Swimming Complex has an Olympic-size pool. The facility is also conveniently located near Bukit Batok MRT station.
There is a Civil Service Club (CSC) at Bukit Batok West Avenue 2. Sports fans can use the gym, bowling alley, swimming pool or tennis courts while their children play at the indoor playground. The club also has an arcade, a jackpot room, a karaoke room and several restaurants.
Golfers will make a beeline to Warren Golf & Country Club. The club offers an 18-hole golf course alongside an array of sports facilities such as a 10-lane bowling alley, a gym, badminton courts, squash courts, swimming pools, tennis courts and table tennis rooms. In addition, the club has an indoor children’s playground, mahjong rooms, billiard and pool rooms as well as restaurants.
Cycling buffs are not forgotten. In March 2019, the government announced that five HDB towns will get more than 40km of new cycling paths over the next five years. The five towns are Choa Chu Kang, Woodlands, Toa Payoh, Geylang and Queenstown. Another 12 km of cycling paths will be added to Choa Chu Kang’s existing cycling path which currently runs only half a kilometre.
Parks and Nature
There are plans for Tengah to be developed into a new HDB estate with lots of nature and greenery including a new 20-ha Central Park. However, those living in Tengah already have three nearby parks.
The Bukit Batok Town Park is fondly known as Little Guilin because the park has a large granite rock that sits in a lake which resembles the rock formations in Guilin, China. The famous rock in the park is often found in many wedding photos! Bird watchers and photographers can also be found indulging in their hobby at the park.
Those who enjoy history will love Bukit Batok Nature Park which has a memorial plaque paying tribute to the soldiers and victims of World War II. Cross-country runners will also love the park with its meandering footpaths through a secondary forest and an abandoned quarry.
Choa Chu Kang Park is ideal for families! Teenagers will enjoy the skate plaza while their parents work up a sweat at the fitness stations. Grandparents can take a leisurely stroll among remnants of former fruit tree plantations or nurture their green thumbs at their allotment gardening plot. In the evening, the whole family can head to one of the restaurants in the park for a hearty meal together.

Tengah may be a new housing estate but residents do not have to worry about meeting their daily needs. There are plenty of malls in nearby Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Batok and Jurong offering a wide variety of fashion, beauty, entertainment, grocery and dining options.
Residents of Tengah also do not lack facilities to exercise and soak in nature. They can choose from three beautiful parks, numerous gyms, a swimming complex and two clubs. Those residing in Tengah can also look forward to an extended cycling path in Choa Chu Kang.
