Sick of the food options at Potong Pasir, residents can easily head to nearby Kelly Jie Seafood (formerly Toa Payoh Melben) for some delicious crab bee hoon soup. The restaurant, located along Lorong 8 Toa Payoh, is so popular that queues are a given!

Not a fan of seafood, fear not! There are plenty of other food choices in nearby Toa Payoh Central. Families can head to Koufu for an affordable meal or Ichiban for some ramen. The Poiz Centre is a newly opened mall that is part of a mixed development. Currently, there are only a few shops opened at the mall with most catering only to daily needs. Watsons, Guardian and Cheers each have a store at the mall.

Once in Toa Payoh Central, bargain hunters will feel as though they have hit the jackpot! There is something for everyone and at affordable prices! Grandpa can get his eyes checked at Optics Focus while Grandma shops for dried goods at ZTP. Meanwhile, Dad can pop into QB House for a quick haircut before joining Mum at Fairprice for groceries. Their teenage daughter can shop up a storm at ALDO, Mad About Shoes and Wear Studio! There is also a World of Sports to satisfy their active teenage son.

Parents of young children will also love Toa Payoh Central where they can bring their children for some enrichment classes at Cristofori Music or Mindchamps. They can also head to Kiddy Palace or Popular Bookstore to pick up some things for their precious little ones.

Young couples can go to Courts at Toa Payoh Central to purchase furniture and electric goods for their love nest before swinging by SK Jewellery or Taka Jewellery to check out wedding rings!

Gym rats living in Potong Pasir have two 24-hour gyms to choose from! There is an Anytime Fitness gym at 15 Tai Thong Crescent and another at 190 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh. Both gyms offer a variety of gym equipment and the services of personal trainers.

Martial arts enthusiasts will love Potong Pasir Community Club where there are classes for karate, boxing, taijiquan, qigong, aikido, taekwondo and silat. There are also classes for yoga and ballroom dancing as well as ballet and music lessons for children.

Those looking for a more affordable option can head to SAFRA Toa Payoh which is located along Lorong 6 Toa Payoh. Besides a well-equipped gym, there is a swimming pool and an indoor children playground. There are also classes for yoga and pilates. In addition, the club has a number of F&B outlets such as McDonalds, Toast Box, Astons, Suki Ya, Jubilee Garden Restaurant and Beer Alley.

Parks and Nature

Residents of Potong Pasir have plenty of access to nature and greenery. Kallang River runs through the estate and the ever-popular Toa Payoh Town Park is nearby.

Built on both sides of the Kallang River, Kallang Riverside Park is a haven for water sports fans. Weekends will see dragon boat teams and canoeists paddling hard along the river. There are also designated fishing zones for anglers looking to hook their next big catch!

Dog lovers will be delighted to know that there is a dog park at Potong Pasir Avenue 1. The dog park has plenty of space for pooches to run around and even a tall water tap for owners to rinse off their furkids.

Residents of Potong Pasir can head to nearby Toa Payoh Town Park to soak up not just greenery but also nostalgia. The park was developed in the 1970s when it quickly became the hottest place for couples to take wedding photos. Today, its pavilions, landscaped pond and willow trees still attract many park users.
