Transportation options in Loyang

Loyang is well-connected to the rest of Singapore via the Tampines Expressway (TPE). The TPE allows Loyang residents to travel around the eastern region of Singapore easily; connecting them from Changi to Tampines. In addition, drivers can use the TPE and travel to all parts of the island by connecting with other expressways such as Pan Island Expressway (PIE), Central Expressway (CTE) and Seletar Expressway (SLE).

Loyang Avenue is a main road that connects Loyang with Changi and Tampines. Loyang Avenue is expected to gain even more importance in the near future because the upcoming Loyang MRT station along the Cross Island Line (CRL) will be located along that road.

MRT stations in Loyang

Loyang is near three MRT stations along the East-West Line; namely Changi Airport, Pasir Ris and Tampines. Commuters in Loyang have plenty of options. Commuters can also travel to Loyang via Tampines East MRT station on the Downtown Line.

Phase 1 of the Cross Island Line (CRL) will be completed in 2029. There will be 12 MRT stations on Phase 1 of CRL. One of the 12 stations is Loyang MRT station which will be located along Loyang Avenue and near Loyang Industrial Park.

The CRL will also connect to the existing Pasir Ris, Hougang and Ang Mo Kio MRT stations. Additionally, Bright Hill MRT station will be an interchange connecting the CRL with the Thomson-East Coast Line. The upcoming CRL will greatly improve the connectivity of Loyang to the rest of Singapore.

Bus Interchange in Loyang

Residents of Loyang are extremely well-served by the numerous buses passing through the neighbourhood via the Punggol and Pasir Ris Bus Interchanges. In addition, the Loyang Bus Depot services buses that originate form the two bus interchanges. The extensive bus network of Loyang means that it is a breeze for residents in Loyang to travel all over the island including the CBD.

Loyang may seem very “ulu” to many Singaporeans but the residents know that it is in fact very well-connected. The area is well-served by the Tampines Expressway, three MRT stations and numerous bus services. Accessibility will be further enhanced with the completion of the Cross Island Line.
