Living in Alexandra means living in an area with a reputation for leisure and food. While quirky or unconventional, there are plenty of things for residents to keep themselves entertained with.
Many people regard the area as the best place to go for laksa in Singapore (Janggut Laksa at Queensway Shopping Centre). With Alexandra Village Food Court, and Alexandra Retail Centre all nearby, the choice on offer is nothing short of impressive.

Great World City
Great World City is hailed as the ultimate one-stop destination. Located along Kim Seng Road and near the Alexandra Park Connector, this complex contains a shopping mall, office building, and service apartments.
Great World City Shopping Centre has an insanely wide array of food and shopping attractions including: Crystal Jade Kitchen, Food Junction, ZARA, Sephora and Toys’R’Us.
Residents can expect to grocery shop at Jones the Grocer and Cold Storage, be entertained at Golden Village (GV) Cinemas, and get fit at TrueFitness gym Great World City.
The centre also has a few medical services including Chiropractic First and Twin City Medical Centre.
Alexandra Park Connector
The 1.7km long park stretches from Tanglin Road, runs along Alexandra Canal, coming to an end at Zion Road. Open 24 hours daily, the Alexandra Park Connector is part of the National Park Board’s many projects intending to enhance the greenery of our Garden City.
Visitors of the Park Connector can cycle, walk, or run to Zion Riverside Food Centre for a quick meal, or visit Valley Point Shopping Centre and Great World City Shopping Centre which are located along the trail.

Alexandra Central Mall
Part of a new integrated development with Park Hotel Alexandra, open from 10am to 10pm.
Located on Alexandra Road, the mall provides a wide variety of choices including Otoko Ramen, Daikin Proshop, and Musicark Instruments and Speech Academy.

Park Hotel Alexandra
Connected to Alexandra Central Mall right off Alexandra Road, the Park Hotel Alexandra is an elegant 4-star hotel bringing chilled vibes to the area of Alexandra.

Haw Par Villa
Haw Paw Villa is not your most conventional park, in fact with its hellish landscapes and demonic statues, it may seem more like a haunted park intending to scare visitors away.
However, the eclectic park is a unique representation of Asian culture, folklore, philosophy, and religion- the last of its kind in the world.
Aptly named the Ten Courts of Hell, Haw Par Villa’s gone through many management shifts since its birth in 1937 under the Brothers Aw.
Since then, the park has undergone a few facelifts making it the ghastly depictions something worth seeing for visitors every year and will hopefully continue to grow in popularity without the threat of closing with their new attraction Hell’s Museum coming soon.
