    Mixed development with a strata shopping centre below. The strata shopping centre isn't doing too well compared to other shopping centre but still provides some services and convenience.

    Review of Home

    I've been a resident of TV1 for a number of years now, and wanted to give a perspective of the place. To refute an old review about the canal smell. My living room windows are open all the time to let in the breeze and light, and I've never had a bad smell from the canal all these years. [ Estate Facilities ] 1. Decently sized for a condo of this size (~21 units?). The pool is large enough for a real workout (~20m length) and for general rough housing with the kids @ the jacuzzi area. The pool doesn't get crowded. 2. BBQ pit is next to the pool with a pit+washing point+bin+table+chairs. Had a few gatherings there, just be considerate and tone down the noise when late. 3. Gym has a cycling machine, treadmill, free weights and a bench press. 4. Security: non residents need to be buzzed in by residents. There's card access control to the individual floors. [ Immediate Amenities ] 1. Food is great. I don't cook for myself anymore. Good mix of cheap coffeeshop eats on this side of the road and mid range restaurants across. Shunfu market is a short walk away. Some good eats also found in the Sin Ming industrial area (like Ubin seafood). 2. Marketing: Sheng Shiong's next door. Shunfu Market nearby. NTUC Finest is at Thomson Plaza 1 bus stop away. 3. Banks(UOB,OCBC,SCB), clinics, post office are all in immediate walking distance. More banks at Thomson Plaza (DBS/POSB/ANZ). 4. Thomson V2 has some coffee spots that i like. TV1 has a nice local bakery just downstairs. [ Transport ] 1. Marymount MRT (Circle) 8min walk away 2. Sin Ming MRT (Thomson) 3-5min walk away, now u/c 3. Lots of buses on Upp. Thomson Rd + Marymount Rd [ Estate Maintenance ] New management is pretty good, and estate cleanliness has improved greatly. They got the pool chairs repainted pretty quickly unlike the previous management which took a while to get things done Overall a decent estate (fresher compared to the older ones in the area) with a great location.

    Wait for next door construction to end

    house sat for a friend for a month. Pros - Location is good, with amenities all around. - Plenty of food around. the arrival of Astons made my day. - Shop and Save closed down next door, but I heard Sheng Shiong was taking over the unit. - Marymount MRT 8-9min walk away - quite a few buses available Cons - Construction next door was really noisy. But it looks almost done when i drove by recently. - Scaffolding from next door's construction was overhead on the jacuzzi area - top floor units have private pool entrances with a patio. Looked dusty with all the construction. - No motorbike parking - Small bbq pit area - Needs repainting - at that time, the Property Mgt was slow to respond to issues Overall Comments - Would be great after next door construction finishes, with the added amenities from the new retail units - I'd stay here again, but only after the construction is done & if Sheng Shiong opens. Ratings & recommendations are post-construction of V two.

    Mickey mouse project and good location

    To add on the comment by Gemini: 1. Building is certified to be safe by BCA. - So not sure why "thomson" mentions it is unsafe. Totally baseless. - Singapore property are 100% safe for sure. 2. The new cleaning contract staff does an excellent job! Pool is clean is maintained regularly. All pumps working. - Yes, I have seen the pool and is in great working condition although I don't stay there. Although is a small pool but not many people use the pool....good for relaxing there and can get ample sun unlike those big project with swimming pool like public pool.....haha 3. All major works in Thom V2 ar done so it is much better now. Soon some units will have a pool view of thom v2 soon! - Yes, Thomson V2 is almost done up and in fact I am sure the property price of V 1 will rise. 4. The drain is not smelly at all. In fact you can leave your windows open for a nice breeze. - How smelly you think Singapore will allow the drain to be....really rediculous.....so many restaurant over there.....drain is ok and fine. 5. Car park fees are included in the maintanence fee. Visitors can park at Sin Ming Plaza which is just opposite Thom V. Ample parking. - Lots of parking lots. 6. There is security. Only residents can access the units via key cards to the gym and the pool. In fact residents can only access their own floors and the pool area. So very safe! -True........... To add on, the location is great and many good reputation school is nearby.....and good food around this area. Good investment area............ My two cents worth...........

    Condo in a nice location surrounded by many amenities. The earlier review is not entirely true. 1. Building is certified to be safe by BCA. - So not sure why "thomson" mentions it is unsafe.     Expact choice my a...

    This is probably the most lousy condo in town. 1- The building had to be inspected after one year to certify that is save to live in it. Despite this, the ceiling of the corridor is visibly bloated. I wonder if one day it will fall. Walls are tilted and not aligned. 2- It's dirty. The worker/cleaner from Bangladesh just left because the pay was not enough. The new cleaner scares me. Anyway, the pool is constantly full of stuffs. 3- The construction site of Thomson V two is running no stop from 2 years. Dust and noise are constant. Do not open the window if you care of your lungs. 4- On the other side the drain is just smelly. 24/7. Do not open the window if you care about your nose. 5- Carpark is not free, plus there are no lots for guest or for motorbikes. 6- BBQ pit has 4 plastic chairs. When one broke, management toke 2 months to buy a new one. 7- BBQ, gym and pool has no toilette. So if you are having a BBQ with friends, you gotta bring them to toilette in the house. 8- The pool pumps are not working. Actually only 1 on 5 does. 9- There is no security. Anybody can go to the pool and BBQ.
