The layout of the condo is incredibly inconvenient. The lifts work on a strange mechanism and take ages to arrive, often skipping my level. There is only one lift serving the guest carpark at level 3 (imagine several people taking the lift up to 30th floor, and down and up again). There is zero sound proofing and you can hear your neighbours extremely clearly, with the units spaced very close to each other. The management is unhelpful and do not think of the residents’ welfare. You will be able to hear the construction of the commercial units in the mall overnight (10pm-3am), and when you call security they will say that their hands are tied as the management gave approval. The interior furnishing is very cheap. Condo looks nice on the outside but there are many problems once you move in.
I was scouting for a condo with water views when I came across an advertisement for City Gate at Beach Road. It’s a towering presence in the area with commercial units below. That gives residents on the higher floors easy access to shops while offering stunning views of the Kallang River. Nicoll Highway MRT station is less than 0.5km away while a variety of restaurants can be found in the vicinity.
Quite drawn to its futuristic design. But still feel it’s a pity to pull down the previous building to build city gate as the previous building was actually still quite new
