Me and my husband are PR holder currently and do not have children. We have a property in Malaysia.
I am going to apply Singapore Citizenship and buy a resale flat in Singapore with my husband. Which kind of scheme should we use when apply resale flat in order to enjoy housing grant ? (We will sell Malaysia property to buy resale flat)

Hi Mdm,

I'm sorry to inform you that you will not be able to enjoy CPF Housing Grant, unless you sell off your Malaysia property and then wait out a 30-month period before purchasing the HDB resale flat.

You can however qualify for Proximity Housing Grant if you purchase a resale HDB flat that is within 4km to either of your parents' place of residence.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi
You may buy a HDB resale flat under the public scheme if both of you (SPR) have met the 3 years time bar. However, you must sell off your Malaysian property. There is no housing grant for SPR.

If you apply for citizenship which will take a while for approval, upon successful application, then you are able to apply for the housing grant.

You may text 9620 0827  for a casual chat.

Warmest regards.

Good evening,

you wont be eligible for any housing grant if i assume your overseas property is residential. You need to dispose it first and observe 30 months waiting period before eligible to obtain housing grant. No issue with proximity housing grant tho.

Difference between buying as SC+SPR and SPR +SPR will be that both of you as SPR needs to fulfill 3 years SPR before can buy and there will be a 5% ABSD payable as SPR.

Hope my sharing helps in aiding in your enquiry. May I know how can I value add further in your property needs?

Best regards,

YT Tan
