I'm a PR and my wife is a Singaporean. We own a 51 HDB flat which is fully paid 2 years ago. We would like to upgrade to a HDB EC flat?. Are we eligible to do so? if yes, do we have to sell first our existing flat before buying this EC. Thank you

Morning,

Both of you are eligible to apply for EC if you have fulfilled the MOP requirement. For BTO EC, you can apply for it, paid for the down-payment, and opt to sell before key collection or after key-collection (within 6 month time frame from key collection to your EC), based on your financial ability.

Hi,

Provided you have stayed at least 5 years in your current HDB, then you will be eligible to sell your HDB.

To purchase a new EC, you need not sell your HDB first. You can sell it within 6 months of key collection to the new EC. To qualify for new EC, you have to

meet your MOP requirement of 5years for your HDB
Not exceed 12k for gross monthly household income
Form a family nucleus with at least 1 citizen applicant.

You will be eligible for Max 80% bank loan, and will not be subjected to Additional Buyer Stamp Duty.

May I know which EC you are keen on? I have the latest starbuys prices and units availability of the current EC launches. Will be glad to understand your housing plans further and assist step by step. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon!

Good evening,

Both of you are eligible to apply for a new EC:
1) fulfilled current unit's MOP
2) Income ceiling doesn't exceed $12k
3) have not enjoyed subsidized units from HDB twice

If you have the financial capability to pay for the 20% downpayment plus 3% buyer's stamp duty, you can hold on to current HDB and sell it off 6 months after TOP.

Will you be interested in the upcoming EC launches? Woodlands? Punggol? Anchorvale? Yuan Ching?

Hope to hear from you soon!
