Hi i would like to know if it will be profitable for me to sell my current 4A flat in bt batok and if i buy 4s resale in west area.

2nd question is, HDB has rejected me on buying a BTO flat as i had currently used 2 times housing grant. But I have not bought any of a BTO flats before, neither do my current husband. Y are we being pinalised on these as my husband has not bought any flats before. The reason i sold my resale flat is due to divorce. I m divorce twice. When some one is divorced naturally u will have to sell the flat so it was not my mistake but y do i am banned from buying a BTO and y is there a need to charge a levy. This is not fair. Neither to my current husband now. we have no other means then to buy a resale as we will be charged a levy so we we bought a resale on 2009 as we have no place to live after we got married 2009. please do advise can we do an appeal for this.

Evening Lynn,

In reference to your first question, it would depend on which block in Bukit Batok are you staying in and which area in the west are you looking at. Based on your statement, you might have purchased a resale unit using housing grant and purchased a BTO before. No Singaporean are eligible to two housing grants.

As to why you are not eligible to purchase BTO even though your spouse have not applied for any BTO before? Married couples are considered as one entity unless broken by means of divorce. Technically speaking, having sold at least one subsidized unit will allow you to have some cash in hand, compared to those newly weds. Thus it's only fair that they be given higher priority. Alternatively, you may choose to purchase resale unit and getting half grant, the component where your spouse have never utilized before.
