Hi Li,

Yes. There are restrictions. You cannnot do that.

The recent new regulation does not allow buyers of resale HDB to buy private property in the first 5 years.

In fact, within the first 5 years of owing the HDB, you cannot sell or rent it too.

You could however the following options;

1)renting out your HDB if you have met the Minimum Occupantion Period and rent a 3rm HDB.

2) Sell 5rm, buy private and rent HDB 3rm.

Please note that my sugestions might be subject to your other circumstances that i am not aware of and carries a certain high amount of risk.
