Hello:

My wife and I purchased an HDB flat for her father. In his will she gets everything as we have been taking car of him for 15 years....the only asset he has is the HDB flat we bought for him.
In the event my wife predeceases her father, what can we do to prevent her siblings from getting the flat after her dad dies? We paid for it, the flat should go to our kids, not her siblings.

Ideas?

Cheers,
jim

Good afternoon Jones,

Your father-in-law can prepare a WILL on his estate, indicating his intention and purpose. This will be executed by the administrator in the event that he pass away.

Hi thank you for the response.
He already has a will that has my wife as the sole beneficiary so that is done. My question is that in the event my father in law is predeceased by my wife, then her siblings which have not participated in my father in law's care for the last 15 years Nor were they involved in any way with this HDB could contest the will and make trouble. Since it was our 600K I want to make sure that it ends up with our children and not my wife's siblings.

    Does that make sense?

    Cheers,
    Jim
