Dear Guru

I have a question, i sold my bto 3rm flat last year which was owned by my ex spouse n myself. Now that i am married, my husband is first timer. I understand that if i buy another bto I got to pay resale levy of 15k. Do i need to pay half of my profit which is called resizing if i apply Bto again?

Thank you

Hi,

(1) Your situation will still considered as 1st timer since your husband is 1st timer, this is refer to the chance of getting new flat.

(2) Yes, you have to pay half of the resale levy for the last subsidized flat owned when buying another subsidized flat, such as BTO/SBF/RBF.

(3) Right sizing policy kicks in when you apply for 2nd HDB loan. Note that this right sizing policy requires you to pay in cash.
Profit > $50k, 50% goes to 2nd HDB.
Profit < $50k, $25k goes to 2nd HDB.
This has nothing to do with type of HDB apply or buy.
