Founded in 1963, UOL Group Limited has emerged as one of the most recognised home-grown property developers in Singapore. Property development is just one of the groups five segments, which include hotel operations segment with a regional footprint. In Singapore, UOL’s hotel operations include Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

In the meantime, UOL Group’s residential developments in the city-state that has received frequent accolades. A four-time recipient of the BCI Asia Top 10 Developer Awards, UOL Group has most recently been awarded the coveted “Best Developer” award at the 9th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards 2019.

UOL Group’s recent projects

Even though Singapore property market in 2019 has been a challenging one in light of the July 2018 cooling measures and the tapering of economic growth worldwide, UOL Group Limited demonstrated its ability to match market demands with an array of cross-segment residential launches and handovers this year.

Chief among their landmark city-fringe projects is Avenue South Residence, which will be near the future Greater Southern Waterfront, and Meyer House. UOL Group also completed Principal Garden almost a year ahead of schedule, and then there’s The Clement Canopy, which features two towers and has the world’s tallest concrete prefabricated pre-finished volumetric construction (PPVC) structure.

UOL bagged a host of awards at the 9th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore), including “Best Developer”.

UOL’s stellar year was recently capped off at the prestigious, 9th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore) ceremony. In addition to bagging multiple gongs for the four completed and launched properties, including “Best Luxury Condo Development” for MeyerHouse, and “Best Completed Private Condo Development” for Principal Garden, the firm also took home the coveted “Best Developer” in 2019 trophy.

On overcoming stiff competition in one of the evening’s most anticipated awards, the independent panel of judges noted that “through their outstanding properties, UOL Group epitomises what an exemplary developer is, whilst pushing the limits on design, experimenting and succeeding with interior and style possibilities and leading the way in architectural perfection.”

Yet the landmark launches and trophy haul of 2019 could soon be superseded. Plans are already afoot for major international manoeuvres in the coming years, including the acquisition of 180 apartments and ancillary facilities at Tower 2 of Thamrin Nine, a mixed-use development in central Jakarta, which will be developed as PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Jakarta. The Group also recently acquired an eight-storey office building in Sydney, Australia, for an estimated SGD152.7 million.

Indeed, after wrapping up this decade in style, it appears that the Best Developer in the Lion City aims to enter the 20s roaring — and ready to establish itself as a global player.
