Private sale usually will be completed within 3 months once price is agreed between buyers while HDB purchase will be completed within 4 months. Both these time frames do not take into consideration time to source for qualified buyers and suitable units respectively.
You will issue OTP upon receipt of 1% option fee then within 2 weeks, buyer should exercise with 4% exercise fee thereafter will kick start completion period of 10 to 12 weeks.
As for resale HDB purchase, you will receive OTP upon giving $1k to seller. Thereafter you need to settle your loan and valuation and decide whether to exercise within 21 days. Then you will book first appointment based on availability. Payment of legal fees, stamp duties etc usually on first appointment while balance payment is usually made at least 2 weeks before completion.
