Recession is coming and we know that it usually goes hand in hand with rising interest rates. With the Lehman Brothers crisis exactly 10 years ago, it would seem that the time is about right for another financial crisis. Why buy now and risk a crash, with all indicators pointing in that direction?

Without rising interest rate, property prices is stagnant.

Do you want higher interest rate when borrowing is lesser due to higher market activity for borrowing or low interest rate that make market low in SIngapore.

There is no best of both world. Only available to those that can deem afford and using it.

Look at what Li Kashing said before You using it as own home, anytime is a good time to buy.

As an ex banker of 20 years managing a book size of over 5 Bil USD, i feel i am qualified to comment.

Recessions come and go.

Does financial crisis have cycles?
What indicators do you use to support "THE TIME IS RIGHT FOR ANOTHER FINANCIAL CRISIS"?

I survived the Kuwait war, The Asian crisis, Sars, The Lehman crisis...

with each crisis, central banks throughout the world work closely, implementing Rules and Regulations to control, prevent, avoid another from occurring.

The are controls put on by central banks, to banks.
Internally, banks with their compliance dept, have even more controls.

All these efforts will minimize the impact of a crisis, let alone allowing one to take place.

I am truly curious Why and How is it time now for another financial crisis? Read More

Hi,

Nobody can predict for sure what is going to happen tomorrow. If I can predict, I would not be buying and selling houses. I will be buying TOTO from Singapore Pools every week.

But one thing for sure, property is an asset, and has proven time again to be the best hedge against inflation.

Ultimately, it really depends on your objectives of the purchase. For me, I would rather purchase my own house, rather than pay rent to the Landlord. Because I know that in the end, I am paying for my own house, and not somebody else's house.

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you and your partner in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen
