Hi Susan, thanks for writing to us on AskGuru.

The concept of having both a 'wet' and 'dry' kitchen in a home is quite normal in Singapore and other parts of Asia. Basically, the wet kitchen is where all the heavy cooking is done, like making curries or cooking meals with a wok. The 'dry' kitchen is where light cooking takes place, such as making simple meals such as sandwiches or salads.

Hope this answers your question.
