My wife (SPR) & I (S'porean) are currently staying in a 4-room HDB flat (470723) with our daughter who is studying in Dunman High School. To ease our daughter's travelling distance between our home and the school, we are exploring the following options in order of preference:
1) Sell the flat and buy a condo unit within 5km of the school with the following criteria:
a) budget @ about 800K, at least 65 sqm, 2 beds 2 baths, mid/high floor, freehold/999 yrs, w/who condo facilities
b) walking distance to bus stops with services 12,14,30,196 or 158
c) outside Geylang district
2) Keep the HDB flat and rent a master bedroom in a HDB flat or condo unit near the school with the following criteria: a) not more than 15 minutes walking distance
b) no owner staying
c) budget about 1.5K
3) Keep the HDB flat and buy a small condo unit within 5km of the school (as a 2nd property) with the same criteria as Point(1). Budget @ 500K, 1 bed 1 bath, outside Geylang.
