I will have completed my 5 years occupancy in my HDB unit next year. Looking to upgrade to a condo. However, understand that bank can only loan 60% and 40% have to pay cash or CPF. How do I eliminate this problem so that I can take 80% bank loan if I sell my HDB?

Yes you are right. You can eliminate this issue either by selling off your HDB or paying up the outstanding loan.

Time your selling of HDB during MOP, dependings on whether you are buying resale condo or new launches. You can also look into bridging loan temporary from bank when you sell your HDB.
