I currently own a private property and was approved by HDB (via appeal). My HDB purchase was completed on 1 Jan 2026, and I understand I’m required to dispose of my private property within 6 months from that date.

However, the intended buyer is expected to exercise the OTP in June 2026, with completion in August 2026. Could you please advise whether this timeline satisfies HDB’s disposal requirement, or whether the sale must be legally completed by 30 Jun 2026?

Hi

The private property must be disposed and sale legal completion done, within 6 months of the purchase legal completion of the HDB. In your scenario the last date should be 30 June 2026.

Since you have issued an OTP of the private property to a buyer, you will have to appeal to HDB for a longer timeline on this, and they will review on a case by case basis.
