I am a singaporean and I purchase a new condo with my fiancee in 2013 on a 50-50 spilt. If i wish to transfer the 50% of her share of the flat to me, is she subject to SSD and would i also be subjected to BSD on the transfer? If so, what is the amount i have to pay?

This is my first property

Hi Scott,

If you are transferring within 1st year of your purchase, your fiancée's SSD is 16% of price or market value, whichever is higher, of the 50% share. If you are in the 2nd year, her SSD rate is 12%.

As for BSD for Singaporean's 1st property, it's computed at 1% for the 1st $180K, 2% on next $180K and 3% thereafter.

You may wish to consult tax/legal professional for further follow up.

Best regards,
