Hi,my wife and I would like purchase a resale HDB soon at sengkang and punggol area. We've been in touch with some agent, and they arranged us to view some units across the area. However, different agent was recommend us different area and claim their suggested area are better than the other. As such, we wonder that sengkang or punggol which of it have better resale value in future?
*Our plan is to stay for few years and look for opportunity to upgrade in future.*

Hi Andy,

Just my personal opinion, both estates has its pros & cons, but it seems like Punggol just has a bit more upcoming infrastructure plans in the pipeline that will continue to enhance the value of the estate. The Punggol Digital District will be joined by the SIT University in a JTC business park / campus like setting in 2025 with Punggol Coast MRT, the cross island line MRT which will make Punggol more accessible to other parts of Singapore in 2030, and One Punggol Hub will be done up by end of this year. With a sports regional centre next to it by 2023. These will progressively materialize while you stay there and will help to maintain if not boost the resale values there so you can have a better chance of looking to upgrade next time.

If you have been following news development, you will probably realise that Punggol will have more upcoming developments and establishments, therefore riding on such news, technically speaking Punggol sounds to have better edge. You will need to understand that all salespersons are doing sales, therefore it is natural to upsell their own products over others.
