Hi, Im a married Singaporean and have a house overseas in my own name and my wife's name is not on the title deeds. I sold my landed house in Singapore 6years ago thinking one day I could buy a HDB subsidised flat and settle back in sg.The rules for buying a subsided flat has changed and disqualifys me from buying into HDB. If my wife's name is not my overseas title deeds does she qualify on her own right to buy a HDB flat?Kindly advise.

Afternoon Sam,

I'm afraid the answer is no. Being married, HDB recognise both of you as one entity. Hence if your wife were to purchase a HDB unit, you will have to be the co-owner or essential occupier. This will then resulting in you having to sell away your private property overseas, within 6 months from key collection.
