Hi, if a Singaporean married to foreigner and already owned a landed house but looking to buy a condo with the foreigner spouse.. If the condo is priced $1.5 mil, how much Stamp Duty they have to pay together?

Hi If a Singaporean (SC) buys with a foreigner spouse, basing on $1.5M property, the stamp duty payable is $264,600 (18% of the purchase price -5400) You may wish to buy using only the SC name to enjoy the benefits of lower stamp duty of 10% ($144,600 of stamp duty based on $1.5M purchase price. Hence you will have a savings of $120K. If your landed is your first property, and if your plan is to buy condo and sell your landed, you can apply for remission on the ABSD subject to approval.
