Hi, i am Singaporean and returning to Singapore and i am not familiar with the tax laws.
My parents will give me 10 million upon my return.
1. Is this gift of money from my immediate family taxable by the IRAS?
2. I intend to use the 10 million to buy a 15 million dollar house. I will have to loan the rest. However i am not working and living of the rental of my current properties. The rental i collect is about $30K. I understand from my bankers that there is TDSR. Please explain. They tell me i can borrow up to 70% of my income and based of the 70%, i can borrow up to 60% of it which is 12,600. Which means servicing a loan of less than 4 million. I however am looking at borrowing 7-8 million . Anyways about it?
