Hi Guru,
I am indian and Recently moved to singapore and went through an agent of a reputed real estate company and got a house for rent for one year and paid the one year deposit S$1700 to the owner and the agent fee of 1/2 month also, unfortunately the house owner turned out to be a cheat and he was doing this for several years, getting money from tenats and not giving the house for rent. and I went to the police and made a report of the same and find out that the house owner is in jail for another crime.
but my agent is refusing to give back the agent fee nor helping to get the deposit back from the owner.
i like to know in this situation what can i do and why i have paid the agent fee for...
is there any option the real estate agency can help us in this regard since their agent is involved in this matter or is my money both deposit and agent fee simply lost?
