Hi,
An exclusive agent that i've engaged for buying & selling a flat claimed that shes not aware & do not know the seller stamp duty tax of 16% of the sales proceed in presence of HDB officer during the 1st appointment. On top of that she insisted me to go ahead to sign all documents as & agreed with all HDB terms as I will be liable for legal damages from buyer & seller if i decided to cancel it off. She insisted that i will not be paying 16% instead 8% as shes confident of it.
My question is how can an exclusive agent with more than 10 years of experience, knows nothing about seller stamp duty fees. Her ignorance & carelessness cost me huge sum of money to be paid to IRA.

Are you selling your HDB flat on a special case by case basis?

For HDB units, they must fufil the 5 years MOP before they can sell (unless they have special reasons). Did you just purchase your unit? Read More
