Hi all,

I would like to ask if the REA allows aspiring RES to take their in-house courses before the RES passes the CEA exams?

Also, I have read that most existing RES encourage aspiring RES to have 6 months worth of savings. My question is that is it really enough? What kind of RES related expenses should be taken into consideration and what is the amount needed for each type of expense?

Thanks in advance.

My understanding is that you may do your in house course concurrently with RES that is if you can afford such time. Reason behind the usual practice is due to the challenging RES syllabus that there are candidates who do not make it in single attempt. In house courses are usually lessons on dealing with on the job matters rather than technicalities of the industry like documentation, rules and regulations and etc.

Your up front course to join my team would be in the range of $2000 with course fees for RES and in house course refundable if you meet certain performance target in stipulated time. With great support from the team on top of your excellent attitude, there is no reason why the refunds cannot be achieved. As a rookie, if you do not have any units to seller rent, your costs is virtually zero unless you consider your living expenses. You may look at leveraging on the existing system within your team to kick start your career.

Yes we allow it to be done concurrently with the RES course.

For expenses associated with being a real estate professional, it depends on what approach you take. For me & my team we focus on targeted and result-based marketing that can be FoC or very low-cost. SMS/call me to find out more.

6 months worth of saving is just a guideline. Why? because even if you sell 10 units in a project new launch on day 1, money don't come till 6mths later. Then again, you don't need do just new launches.

A good manager will guide you accordingly. Remember that you are starting a new business and not taking on a new job. Of course the more money you invest into the biz, the faster you see result, but if you do not have a lot of saving, there are still ways you can do well. Just have to work smarter and be more innovative to leverage on other's skills set to compliment with your.

Different agencies and teams suit people from different backgrounds. You should meet up with a few leaders who are recruiting and see which is the best match for you.

Personally, I gave up my consulting business to join DTZ as it's a global brand that enable me to leverage on the International connections. Many from my DARE Group within DTZ were from corporate background. We have former Executive Director of listed company, ex-Director from MNCs, ex-Director from Singtel..etc. We also have ex-teacher, stay-at-home-mum, auditor, banker, IT professional....etc.

Regardless of their background, our role is to equip them to be productive as soon as possible by teaching them to work creatively leveraging on each other's skills.

Just remember never to join any agency because they tell you they will give you listings. A good manager will teach you how to get your own listing and build your real estate business.

It's diffcult to share here, drop me a sms via HP 968 55070 and we can discuss further in private. I can share with you why I choose DTZ and also help you understand the strength and weakness of the various agencies.

We are selectively recruiting, but you do not need to join DARE Group. There are many good agencies and teams to consider. If you like DTZ branding, give me a call or sms.

Be greatly blessed in your real estate business.
