Hi Agents,
My husband & i bought resale flat twice using CPF (combined). We bought 3rm flat for twice too! My question now is, we thinking of upgrade to bigger house which 4/5rm flat and we wanted to use CPF still instead of bank loan. Any suggestions? Or can we appeal to HDB for that? Or if u guys have any suggestion?

Don't worry, you will be able to utilise CPF funds to pay for your monthly mortgage even if you take up a bank loan. There is no need to appeal to HDB to utlise your CPF for monthly installments.

Hi Mdm,

Theres no restrictions in using your CPF funds to purchase a flat, regardless of how many times you purchase before, as long as both of you are below the age of 55. However, if you are referring to HDB loan, then each Singaporean is only entitled to HDB loan twice.

For your case, you will need to time the sale and purchase carefully so that you are able to minimise your case outlay, and reuse your CPF for the new flat purchase. Hi,

1) I think you are referring to the HDB loan that you wish to apply for rather than apply for a bank loan.
2) Yes, in the general case, every Singapore citizen is given only 2 chances of enjoying a low-interest loan from HDB.
3) You may appeal to HDB for a 3rd HDB loan stating your reasons; such as children growing up need bigger space, the current financial state does not allow to apply for a bank loan due to the 5% cash downpayment, etc.
4) You may appeal using the link provided:

5) If your appeal is unsuccessful, you will have to approach your MP for assistance to submit another appeal.
6) Do note that the 3rd HDB loan interest is usually much higher than the normal 1st & 2nd HDB loan. You have to do a careful calculation before taking it up.
