If you are purchasing over a unit with tenancy, then there should be an inventory list for verification. If inventory list indicated that these furnishings are included in the tenancy, then it will not be the responsibilities of the tenant to clear these furnishings. For damages claim, you may wish to have them produce evidence to indicate that the window was already damaged when they first moved in as they will need to provide a copy of these defects to the landlord within 1 month of moving in as a form of record to protect their interest.

In the absence of such records, it will be their words against yours and will likely only be able to resolve in the Small Claims Court. If you have any agent, you should check with your agent who have helped you with this purchase.
