Post renovation cleaning can be done by hiring a professional cleaning team to do the job. If you are referring to defects inspection, there are also professionals handling such matters. It is very much depending on the complexity of the development or unit you are referring to in order to gauge the timeline for rectification and cleaning works to plan for your move in.

It usually depends on the scope of renovation, but here’s a general experience:

Most people take 3–6 weeks after renovation to move in comfortably. This includes time for:
• Curing period: Walls, floors, and paint may need a few weeks to settle.
• Deep cleaning: Post-renovation dust can be everywhere. A professional cleaning service is often worth it.
• Snagging/defects: Walk through the unit with your contractor before moving in. List any defects (paint, tiles, fittings) and get them fixed before you unpack.

Tips:
• Do a thorough walk-through with your contractor and take photos for records.
• Schedule professional cleaning after snagging work is done.
• Move in gradually if possible—start with essentials to avoid tracking dust everywhere.

Hi,

1) No matter how small scale the renovation is, the minimum period to the work complete is at least 8 weeks, not counting the cleaning.
2) If it is a whole unit renovation, you can expect to be 12 weeks to be minimum.
3) The reason for such a period is due to the nature of materials that current renovation have. Cement, glue, and silicon, etc, take time to dry and solidify. The weather conditions will also affects the speed of the solidify process.
4) If you are not cash tight, engaging professional defects checker and cleaning is the best way moving forward.
