Can a Singapore citizen below 35 years old to buy a resales HDB with my parent who is Malaysian more than 55 years old, holding a long term visit pass? But she is owning a property in Malaysia.
Does she consider as applicant or occupier based on the HDB website?

Hi Sky,

1) Yes, you are eligible to buy with your parent holding an LTVP under the non-citizen family scheme.
2) You are free to choose any type of flat under this scheme.
3) However you are not eligible for any grant since you are below 35 yrs old.
4) The difficult part in your situation is your parent owns a residential property in Malaysia.
5) Your parent will need to sign an undertaking letter on the completion day to promise to sell the overseas property within 6 months upon collecting the keys for the HDB purchased, even though your parent is not the owner of the flat.
6) Your parent can only be an essential occupier under the non-citizen family scheme.

Your parent will be considered the essential occupier for this purchase and they will be required to dispose off the current private property in Malaysia within 6 months from taking possession of the HDB.

    the answers here are wrong! the malaysian property has to be disposed off and the 15 months waitout period applies post the new cooling measure! I am stuck in a similar situation now
